New regulator made up of the lightweight second stage Ellipse with an
ultra durable, high impact thermo polymer cover (Black
version) combined with the brand new, never before seen
MC5 balanced diaphragm first stage.
Extremely lightweight, excellent performance, very easy maintenance and
moderate purchase price are its strengths.
Technical details
The new MC5 first stage was designed completely in the
Cressi Engineering and Development Centre.
It is a balanced diaphragm first stage of an extremely moderate
size and weight, which encompasses a high concentration of
technology.
A brand new sliding cylinder of the poppet, made from a
special self-lubricating technopolymer minimises internal attrition and
completely eliminates any possible oxidisation that could alter the
performance of the regulator over time.
The excellent performance has been improved even further by a
special assistance chamber that triggers off a strong Venturi
effect between the central diffuser and the intermediate pressure outlets.
The hyper-balanced diaphragm mechanism not only maintains
regulator performance when the pressure in the tanks changes and when
diving deeper, but even improves performance in the
notoriously most critical final phase of the dive.
A sintered filter with a larger surface area withholds
impurities present in the incoming air.
The low and high pressure outlets are pre-oriented for
optimum placement of the hoses.
The very small cylindrical body is completely covered by an
elastomer protective shell.
It is quick and easy to pull apart the regulator for maintenance with the
new INT yoke connection system or the internally threaded DIN connector.

ELLIPSE AC-2
The younger brother of Ellipse Titanium, it imitates
all the exceptional features of the leading regulator, with a
casing made from sophisticated and strong hi-tech polymers (Ellipse
Black).
All the parts of Ellipse Titanium, most of which are patented, are
technologically used: the fold-out opening of the casing, the special
folding diaphragm, the computer designed lever, the tilting movement of
the poppet, the seal between regulator valve and casing, the possibility
of extracting the entire air supply system from the body of the 2nd
stage.
Air regulation is extremely gently and the amount of air delivered is
considerable, even given the traditional piston-balanced first stage.
Ellipse/AC2 has no rivals on the market in terms of
quality-price ratio.
1st stage Ellipse comes with the traditional
Cressi AC2 piston model.
This is a non-balanced first stage with such high
performance that it can be compared to lots of excellent balanced
models.
The small number of components, the low weight and the excellent
materials make it the strongest Cressi first stages, and the
most steadfast to maltreatment, a real “working horse” amongst
regulators.
An ingenious bush system allows easy and rapid external
regulation of the intermediate pressure , it has an exceptional
air flow, a lot higher than what is found on the market for this kind of
first stage and that easily stands up to comparison with the balanced
models in terms of performance.
It comes with both international yoke or 200 or 300 bar DIN
connection.
Technical details
The Ellipse regulator has all the features of the new generation
regulators, so it is small in size, has very moderate weight, and a
modern and charming look. The performance provided is excellent and
satisfies all divers, from beginners to professionals, even with its
small size and traditional piston first stage.
The first
stage of Ellipse is the tried and tested traditional
AC2 piston Cressi model. Although this is a non-balanced
first stage, it has an exceptional air flow, a lot higher than what is
found on the market for this kind of first stage and that easily
stands up to comparison with the balanced models in terms of
performance. It comes with both international yoke or 200 or 300 bar
DIN connection and boasts the exclusive feature of enabling easy and
quick adjustment of the intermediate pressure.
It has a generously sized cone-shaped sintered filter.
This compact first stage and its legendary robustness and simplicity
make it one of the most esteemed and commonly used models on the
market.
The second stage of the Ellipse is made from a
special new generation high-tech polymer, which
stands out due to its flexibility, mechanical strength and a capacity
to absorb shocks and reduce noise that are truly original in this
sector.
The casing of the Ellipse has a patented “fold-out” opening.
With a simple 4 mm Allen wrench you can undo the cam-lock bayonet
closure system to open up the casing. This operation is carried out
rarely, but every now and then it is necessary so as to clean and
inspect the inside and to make sure that the diaphragm and exhaust
valve are intact. The diaphragm has an elliptical shape, the structure
of which is patented and it is possible to use a lever of the same
size or even bigger than the ones on considerably larger regulators.
When you open the casing you access the regulator system which is a
classic downstream side valve. The lever has an
unusual, computer-designed and patented conformation that virtually
annuls the friction against the diaphragm cap, thanks to its special
structure and also thanks to a completely new feature of the
poppet, also patented. In fact, instead of simply sliding
longitudinally, like all poppets, this one also tilts
vertically, minimising friction against the orifice. The
rectangular opening of this orifice is protected internally by
a revolutionary seal made from elastomer (patented), which
directs all the air towards the injector instead of allowing it to
enter the casing from the opening of the orifice. This
drastically reduces the risk of the 2nd stage freezing in
icy-cold water, and the air is completely directed towards the
mouthpiece, which exalts the performance of the regulator.
Another exceptional patented feature of the Ellipse, is the
possibility of extracting the entire regulator system from the
casing, just by loosening a counter-screw and removing two
small metal retaining cylinders. So all maintenance and calibration
can be “open heart”, keeping times to a minimum and making these
operations easier.
The new structure of the exhalation valve, has
made it possible to reduce breathing effort even more than the already
excellent values of the Airtech. The valve works in a special trap,
which protects it from a sudden flow of water that can be channelled
through the exhaust tee in particular situations (jump from a boat
into the water, currents, sudden movements of the head, etc…).
A lever that acts as a flow deflector, situated in
the upper part of the casing makes it possible to adjust the Venturi
effect. When it is moved to (-) position it acts as pre-dive, for
water to enter and for the initial phases of the dive, and when it is
moved to (+) the regulator can then develop maximum performance.
A system of antagonistic counter-flows inside the casing balances
depression created by the powerful Venturi effect, perfectly
calibrating air flow to the diver’s requirements.
Performance
The use of a lever with an unusual structure and the almost total
reduction of friction have made it possible to obtain very high
performance. The inhalation effort is particularly low, averaging
about 5.5 Mbar, with an initial effort of almost nil. The overall
breathing work is less than 1.1 joule/litre, a very good value for a
regulator of this catehory. Anyone who tries the regulator in water
will be amazed at the extremely easy and gentle air flow provided, and
apart from the excellent values provided at the test bench, it
highlights a peculiar characteristic of this regulator: how extremely
pleasant it makes breathing and its incredible silence.
ELLIPSE BALANCED (NEW) MC-7
New regulator formed of the combination of the well-known MC7
hyperbalanced diaphragm first stage and the brand new Ellipse Balanced
second stage.
This is an extremely high performance balanced second
stage and enables the user to adjust both the Venturi effect
(dive-pre-dive), and breathing effort.
Technical details
The new Ellipse Balanced second stage has been
designed to offer enthusiasts the absolute best performance of
the whole range of Cressi regulators.
Many of the exclusive technical features of Ellipse, covered by
four world patents, have been used in this new second stage.
These include the variable profile supply lever, the tilting poppet, the
special elliptical diaphragm, the fold-out casing, the mechanics that
can be disassembled as a unit and the internal elastomer antifreeze
protection element.
Ellipse Balanced has a new, slightly larger casing and a new
diaphragm that improves the very low inhalation effort of
Ellipse even further.
The pneumatic balancing system of the poppet enables
constant performance at any depth and with any air pressure in the
tanks.
The knob is easy to grip even with gloves, so instant adjustment
of the inhalation effort is possible, adjusting it to the
preferences of the user and the type of use as first regulator or spare
regulator. The adjustment system is protected by a double seal and is
completely waterproof, also ensuring very gently rotation even over
time.
A lever that acts as flow deviator situated at the top of the casing,
enables adjustment of the Venturi effect. Moved to (-)
position is works as pre-dive, for water to enter and
for the initial phases of the dive, and when moved to (+)
is allows the regulator to develop the maximum
performance.
A newly designed internal conveyor guarantees a
considerable Venturi effect that enhances the performance
of the regulator but at the same time make air supply gentler and more
natural.
The standard exhaust tee can be replaced directly by the user
with a larger sized model that moves the air bubbles even
further away from the diver’s face and reduces exhalation effort further
(best values on the market).

Exclusive fold-out opening of casing with camlock locking system
Patented elliptical diaphragm
Variable profile lever
Inhalation effort adjustment system with double OR seal
Technopolymer dive/pre-dive flow deviator

Ellipse Alaska/MC7-AF
This model has been designed mainly for use in cold water.
The MC7 diaphragm first stage comes with the standard issue
antifreeze kit and the second stage is identical to the one
used in the Ellipse Titanium.
The first stage of the Ellipse Alaska is the already famous and
excellent Cressi MC7 model balanced diaphragm. It comes with the
antifreeze kit, which provides an additional waterproof chamber,
to screw onto the end of the first stage. This chamber ends with a
silicon diaphragm on the outside that seals off the inside from contact
with water, while still transmitting any pressure variation to the inner
organs, thanks to the flexibility of the material.
The antifreeze kit is composed of two main parts, both made from
strong chrome-plated brass. There is a mushroom element inside, made
from acetylic resin, which connects the external diaphragm to the
internal one.
The use of the antifreeze kit completely eliminates any water
seepage into the external part of the first stage, so not only
does it prevent the formation of ice in this area, but it also prevents
the formation of deposits and incrustations on the diaphragm and on the
spring.
This provides considerable advantages for divers working in
mineral-rich water or with lots of suspension (archaeological
sites, port works, caving etc.)

Ellipse Titanium/MC7
A new generation regulator that sits at the top of the market due to
its exceptional features.
The small size, combined with the use of sophisticated hi-tech
polymers and various parts made from titanium, make it possible
to keep the weight exceptionally low.
The regulator is technologically state-of-the-art,
thanks to a series of new finds, patented, which highlight the
performance. The following are patented: the fold-out opening of the
casing, the special folding diaphragm, the computer designed lever, the
tilting movement of the poppet, the seal between regulator valve and
casing, the possibility of extracting the entire air supply system from
the body of the 2nd stage. The result of all this technology is a
regulator that supplies air with unheard of gentleness and fluidity. All
of this with an excellent price/quality ratio.
1st stage
Ellipse Titanium comes with the MC7 diaphragm balanced first
stage.
It is a very modern first stage, with very high performance, while
being easy to maintain and very strong. The “in line” configuration with
the air outlet from the tank guarantees very high performance,
reducing drops in pressure to a minimum.

Technical details
The Ellipse Titanium regulator has all the features of the new
generation regulators, so it is small in size, has
very moderate weight, and a modern and charming look.
The
performance provided is excellent, even with its small size,
and it is a true leader in the category that makes it the favourite of
all divers, from beginners to technical divers and professionals.
The first stage of the Ellipse Titanium is the
already well-known and excellent Cressi MC7 balanced
diaphragm model. It comes with both international
yoke or 200 or 300 bar DIN connection; this is a
hyper-balanced model that guarantees improved performance
when the tank pressure diminishes. This highly useful feature means
the regulator gives of its best in the concluding phases of the dive,
notoriously the most important for correct de-saturation of the
tissues.
The first stage is a compact size and has a very strong structure. It
also has an optional antifreeze kit, which completely
seals the spring and diaphragm from contact with the water.
The second stage of the Ellipse Titanium is made
from a futuristic cocktail of titanium and
new generation high-tech polymers. The former is well-known
for its properties – rust resistant, mechanically strong and very
lightweight. The high-tech polymer used for the casing is futuristic,
boasting flexibility, mechanical strength, a capacity to absorb shocks
and reduce noise that are truly original in this sector.
